Approximately 5" x 5" transfers on paper measured at approximately 7" x 9" framed at approximately 20" x 20." Photographs taken with an iPhone, printed as color polaroids, and transferred to precious papers.

The Remote:  A place lost due to technological ubiquity.

Sontag suggested that tourists use cameras to buffer themselves from their travel experiences, that travel generates anxiety.  We traverse our lives as speeding tourists, managing our anxiety with nonstop cellphone/data/camera usage.

These are cellphone images, transferred to tangible materials that inevitably fade. Landscapes saturated in technology yet appearing remote.  I hope viewers will meditate on the beauty of these places, or perhaps their lie as they falsify the possibility of one day escaping emails.
