An installation of 28 permanent pigment inkjet prints
I moved to the midwest from my homeland in the Southeast in 2016. Ever since, there is always the need and desire to reach out to the family and friends I left behind in my migration. Missing them terribly, along with the familiar landscape of tall pine trees and mountains, I often look to the power lines as I drive, imagining the continuous connection they make along the roads until they find their way south and reach the world my heart yearns for so deeply. It is a lonely state being so far from "home" and these power lines offer a strange comfort, making me feel connected to people and places far away.
